This week in our "Birthing God" series we hear the story of Joseph, who, faced with a socially destroying decision, decided to shoulder the responsibility of an unwed mother, because he comes to believe it is the salvation of the world.  His [and Mary's] decision honours all the decisions of followers of Christ everywhere who shoulder responsibility, sickness, one another's burdens in following the Christ who said, "Deny yourself, take up your cross [shoulder it] and follow me."   Joseph and Mary's shouldering of this burden, allows Jesus to shoulder our burdens to open eternity.

Our second sermon in our Advent series - Birthing God.  Last week we met the first people God used in his process of coming to earth, an older couple who were past it. The next person an angel visits is going to have to Hide it, a pregnancy out of wedlock!  What does this say about our God?  Hairy the puppet comes to help us work this out.

God is coming to earth.  Who does he contact?  Two people who are arguably long past it.  Elizabeth and Zachariah.  

Bruce Henzell was our special guest speaking about "Loving one another."  Bruce will be leading us in LAB 1 in March 2019.

Hairy, who is orange, came and shared with us about Gratitude, because he's such a cool dude. He's got attitude, and he learnt a bit about gratitude. Followed by a very shot message from Paul.  Psalm 107

For remembrance Sunday we considered why it is that Kings go off to war. 2 Sam 11:1.  And how we reconcile the God of war of the old Testament with the Prince of Peace of the New.

The finale in our Trusting God series.  Simply, how can we trust God in our messed up world?  Very powerfully delivered. 

The children helped with this powerful sermon about trusting God with our families.  Two things - Hands on when young - Training.  Hands off when older - Loving.
